Don't Want To Wake Up With Bad Morning Breath?

Bad morning breath is something everyone experiences because when we sleep for 6-8 hours each day, bacteria in the mouth grow and multiply rapidly. This process produces noticeable odors and causes the mouth to feel sour and sticky in the morning. Normally, during the day, the body has a self-cleansing mechanism in the mouth where saliva helps kill bacteria. However, while we sleep:

  1. Saliva production decreases and remains stagnant, creating an ideal warm environment for bacteria to thrive and multiply quickly.
  2. Even if we brush our teeth well before bedtime, there are often missed spots and food particles left between teeth, which serve as good food sources for bacteria.
  3. Factors such as stress and inadequate rest reduce the body's immune defenses, contributing to oral issues like gum inflammation, plaque buildup, cavities, and bad breath caused by these bacteria.
